Princess Elizabeth Apartments provided economical housing to meet the huge post-war demand. The organization of attached row house buildings around 3 large common courtyards makes a delightful community space. The Early Modern style is evident in the use of strip windows, flat roofs and the horizontal expression of the form. Two colours of brick are used: yellow for the flanking walls and red for the infill walls. The angled dividing walls walls between units give the buildings a distinctive appearance. This extensive apartment complex was developed in four phases during the years 1955 to 1957.
